Practice Times Tables

An app for iPad for those who need to practice the multiplication table.

Instructions

This app mainly consists of four different parts spread over two pages.

On the first page:

  • A multiplication table you can click in. When you click on a multiplication, you will see the answer to the multiplication.

  • In the same table the possibility to get random multiplications based on tables or "corners". The answer is shown after a delay you can set  between 1-5 seconds.

On the second page:

  • You can select the same tables and corners as on the first page, but you must enter the answer with a numeric keypad. Your answers are corrected automatically and your incorrect answers are saved and displayed for the current round.

  • Compete against yourself in 11 different levels from the easy corner up to the left, to the difficult corner down to the right. Click on the "Become a Master" icon to do this. Time is limited and you will need to know the multiplications by heart to succeed. If you answer incorrectly, you lose three seconds of time, so it is important to give a correct answer.

Available in the following languages:

  • English

Another way to use the clickable table on the first page.

My experience as a teacher is that if you're practicing algorithms and some students don't know the tables by heart, they are given a table where they have to find the right product in a table where the factors "meet". Sometimes it's difficult for theese students to  find the correct product in such a table.

It's easier for the student to click on the two factors that are relevant and see only that product and not a lot of other products.
